Just a little something
Soo I know this post is not on my list, but I went to Starbucks this afternoon to work on reading Don Quijote... the book I swear is never ending, and I read like two pages and get distracted. But yes so I was at Starbucks, I talked to a couple of people in spanish, no big deal. But I went upstairs to sit down and read and read for a good hour (yes be proud), when a woman sat down and a starbucks employee was trying to help her but she didn't know spanish. She saw me staring at her, apparently I need to practice my eavesdropping skills a little bit, and she mouths with hands and words I knew how to speak english. So I became her translator. It was really fun, Especially because both her and the bucks employee thought I was chilean. I ended up finding out she was from New Zealand (Auckland). We sat down and had a conversation that turned into her trying to teach me how to salsa. Yes I salsa'd in starbucks.... thank god there were like no people around because I made an absolute fool of myself, but who can really say they salsa'd in bucks? Yeah me thats who! haha
She was quite the interesting lady though. Her name was Ginger, and has been like traveling the world like all her life. She lived in Japan for a while after meeting "the cutest man (in her words)", then traveled the states with an overbearing boyfriend that gave her a hard time for wearing cowboy boots and dancing like a rhinestone cowboy (her words again). And then she moved back to New Zealand where she was in a band, she was the singer. I listened to her music, it was actually pretty good. But then she had the opportunity to go to Brazil, so she visited there a few times, then moved there to work on her music. And a week ago, she was online talking to a friend and something popped up on her screen to come to Chile. So since she is such a believer in the universe she came to Chile, because she thought she had a friend here. Well she met someone in the airport, came to Viña,, and then thats where the story ends. She was looking online for an apartment to stay here in Viña until December to work on her music, a mix of salsa, latin and techno. Probably one of the most interesting people I have met in quite a while. It was pretty fun.
But yeah I just had top share with you all my odd little experience. :)
