Saturday, July 4th!
Below are all pictures of Pomaire
Above: this guys was amazing. I watched him just whip out all of these pieces of clay into beautiful pieces to be fired. Hi did all of that in like 5 or 10 minutes, it was nuts! People are very talented here!
Just a cute old dog I saw. Look Hannah, he has the white face, I loved it. And he was sitting so still like he was a statue! lol
well yesterday was July 4th, but no fireworks, barbecues, or american pride for me! I spent the day Chile style. I had a day full of ISA excursions. First we took a 2 hour bus ride to the countryside, to a little town called Pomaire. The scenery there was just beautiful. And the town was all small and cute too. This place is know for its ceramics, and super cheap ceramics. I mean its all hand made and beautiful, and way cheap! So we spent about 2 or 3 hours here, eating lunch and walking around the fería looking at wonderful things to buy. For lunch I had empanadas and pebre. I had cheese empanadas, SO good. And pebre is the salsa here. Its the only thing that they have that has any kind of spice, and not even that much. But it reminds me a little bit of pico de gallo, like the fresh salsa back home. But chileans eat it on everything, bread, everything. Its weird though because my family doesn't have it or make it...maybe I should request it. haha. But anyways it was such a fun little town with such nice people. I wish I could have spent more time there and bought many more things, because it was SO cheap!
